Sonder

My Capstone Sonder is an editorial project focusing on the concpet of "Sonder" the realisation that everyone around you has a life as vivid and complex as your own.
I explored how data can be presented in a more human and emotionally engaging way. The project collected anonymous responses from a series of prompts from thirty-three people and transformed them into a publication that balances personal storytelling with data visualisation.
To bring clarity to the responses, I developed a colour-coding system linked to emotional themes, allowing patterns across the data to emerge visually while still preserving the individuality of each story.

Through careful decisions around layout, typography, and sequencing, the publication creates a visual narrative that sits between data visualisation, editorial design, and storytelling.
The cover itself represents an apartment grid, with each square filled with different colours and emotions, reinforcing the idea that every life is unique yet part of a larger collective.

The project sits at the intersection of empathy, storytelling, and information design, both analytical and emotional.
