Spark Kupu is a game app developed as part of a university project responding to a Spark-backed brief.
The app helps New Zealanders connect with their pepeha, an important part of Māori identity, through playful, interactive experiences. My role focused on developing the visual identity, working with Spark’s colours while adding form and depth to highlight the personal elements of pepeha.
Typographic lines and illustration were used throughout to reflect connection to the land and Māori cultural heritage. I also led the marketing campaign, highlighting Maunga (mountains) through typography and a deep colour scheme aligned with Spark’s brand guidelines. Posters, billboards, and motion elements reinforced warmth, accessibility, and engagement, ensuring the app guided users through exploration rather than a formal learning tool.
Role:
Graphic Design - Gradients, icons
Campain - Strategy, Design
UX/UI - graphics
Motion - animated billboards, movement to support the branding
